A playlist-management interface lets a user configure media sources; it does not grant permission to access or redistribute every URL entered there. Use sources you are authorised to access and keep credential-bearing links private. Familiar logos or successful playback do not establish ownership or redistribution rights.
Know the source relationship
A player supplies software while another party supplies the media source. The player’s acceptance of a URL does not verify the provider’s rights or your account terms.
Avoid public credential sharing
Uploading a private provider link to a public list can expose access details and create unintended use. Use the supported private management route instead.
Keep customer setups separate
For someone helping several households, each account and player entitlement should follow its actual terms. Do not reuse one customer’s private configuration as a public template.
A practical sequence
- Use only an authorised source for the intended account.
- Configure it through the supported private management route.
- Keep access details out of public lists and reusable templates.
An example
A working playlist copied from another person’s account is not equivalent to an account issued for your own authorised use.
Questions about this topic
Does successful playback prove redistribution rights?
No. Technical access and rights are different.
Does a player logo establish a broadcaster partnership?
No. Artwork alone is not evidence of a partnership.
