The supplied Pro Max Android package declares version name 3.9 and package identifier com.promax.ott. Those values identify this supplied build; they are not evidence that no newer release exists. Compare the installed version with the current support-provided download before replacing a working application.
Record the exact identity
The package identifier distinguishes this installation from similarly named players. The display name alone can be reused by unrelated applications.
Separate metadata and testing
A version declaration does not prove installation or playback was tested on your specific TV. Minimum platform, remote navigation and the intended source still need practical checks.
Avoid speculative upgrades
A higher number on an unrelated website is not sufficient reason to replace the app. Verify the distribution source and retain recovery information before an update or reinstall.
A practical sequence
- Open the installed app’s About or system app-information screen.
- Record package identity and version.
- Compare with the current support-provided package before replacement.
An example
Two apps can display Pro Max in their names while using different package identifiers and update signatures.
