An app activation key can license a player or associate a device with an app account. A streaming password authenticates access to the service. They are different values even when the same support conversation mentions both. Putting an app key into the service password field will not create the expected streaming login.
Label private records by purpose
Store the player licence, service username, service password and local PIN under separate labels. That prevents a reset or renewal request from changing the wrong product. Avoid sending every value when only one account reference is needed.
Read the screen before entering a code
A screen showing a device key or activation address may belong to player licensing rather than service login. Follow the publisher’s instructions for that app. Do not assume any key displayed on a television is meant for public sharing.
Resolve the correct account with support
Explain which screen is blocking progress and what nonsecret error appears. For Pro Max 4K OTT enquiries, use +44 7532 814802. Keep private keys out of public screenshots and share sensitive details only through the verified route when necessary.
A practical sequence
- Identify whether the screen concerns app licensing or service access.
- Use the value labelled for that purpose.
- Redact device keys in shared screenshots.
An example
A player licence can be active while a streaming profile has no service credentials. Entering the licence receipt number as the service password will not connect the account.

Not unless the actual offer explicitly includes one.
Is a local parental PIN a service password?
