A signed media URL can include a time-limited authorization value. Copying that URL into a personal list does not remove its expiry. If it works briefly and later fails, the correct route is usually the service’s supported account or top-level stream flow, which can obtain current authorized links.
Recognize temporary authorization
Long query values or expiry fields can be part of a signed request, but do not infer their exact meaning from appearance alone. The service decides the signature format and lifetime. Editing those values invalidates authorization rather than extending it.
Keep the account entry point
A player may retrieve fresh media links after an authenticated catalogue request. Saving only the final temporary URL can bypass that refresh flow accidentally. Use the account format actually supplied for the player.
Report the timing pattern
Describe how long the copied link worked and whether reopening through the normal account restores access. Do not share the signed URL publicly; it may grant temporary access while valid.
A practical sequence
- Use the supported account import or top-level stream URL.
- Avoid editing signature or expiry parameters.
- Describe the failure timing without publishing the token.
An example
A temporary media address captured during a session may expire while the service login remains active. Renewing the session flow and renewing the subscription are different operations.
Questions about this topic
Can I extend a signed link by changing its date?
No. A valid signature must match the server’s authorization rules.
Does one expired link prove the plan expired?
No. Link lifetime and subscription lifetime can differ.
