IBO Player setup can use a displayed device identifier and device key for its management workflow. Treat those values as private access information rather than decorative numbers. Crop them from public screenshots and use only the established private support route when a legitimate setup task requires them.
Understand their role
A device key can help someone reach device-specific management. It should not be handled like a harmless app-version number simply because it appears on a television screen.
Inspect QR codes too
A QR code can encode a management destination or identifier. Covering the printed key while leaving a related QR code visible may not protect the same information.
Share only what is needed
A public report can usually include device model, app version and error wording. Send management values privately only to the party authorised to perform the specific setup.
A practical sequence
- Review the account or activation screen for identifiers and keys.
- Crop keys, QR codes and private URLs from public images.
- Use the established private channel for authorised setup information.
An example
A photo of the entire activation screen can reveal both a device key and a QR route even when no password field is present.
Questions about this topic
Is a device key the same as my provider password?
No. They can control different parts of the setup, and both may be sensitive.
Does hiding only the password protect the screenshot?
No. Inspect keys, identifiers and QR codes as well.
